Wood-Destroying Organism (WDO) Inspection

Quick answer
What is a WDO inspection?
A WDO (wood-destroying organism) inspection looks for visible evidence of termites, wood-decaying fungi, and wood-boring beetles, plus evidence of past treatment and damage. In Florida it is performed by a licensed pest control business and reported on the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services form FDACS-13645. Many lenders require one for VA and some other loans.
An add-on to your Palm View home inspection
A visual inspection of the property's accessible areas for evidence of wood-destroying organisms, visible damage, and indications of previous treatment or infestation. The findings can help you identify conditions that may require treatment, repair, or further evaluation before completing a real-estate transaction. You will receive the official state-prescribed WDO inspection report documenting the findings. The inspection does not include concealed or inaccessible areas, treatment, repairs, or a guarantee that wood-destroying organisms or related damage are absent.
This service is available only as an add-on to a residential home inspection. WDO inspections provided by Termite Depot.
How the Palm View WDO workflow works
Florida regulates WDO inspections through the pest control licensing system, separately from home inspections. Palm View coordinates WDO inspections through an approved relationship with Termite Depot, a licensed pest control provider, so you can add the WDO inspection when you book your home inspection and receive both reports without managing a second vendor.
